Don't Go Riding On That Long Black Train. Y A M I
The gardens were silent and peaceful-- nothing like the mood of the golden vixen that stormed through the underbrush. However, of the many dark emotions that radiated off of her dazzling fur, sadness was the most drastic. "Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone- in a world that she can't rise above," Yami murmured softly, tilting her head to the side quietly. So many didn't know about her. Didn't understand her past, didn't care to listen. She gave a mournful, quiet bark, closing her eyes carefully. "It's hard to see the pain behind the mask." Those last words were quiet, but she lay down and sucked in a shuddering breath. So little time... And she had already lost her apprentice. To Takeo. What was wrong with her? Was she a bad mentor? The thought of it made bile rise up her throat, but she pushed it down. Now was not the time to cry. Right now, she just needed to sort herself out.

Daiyu fliked her ears around as she stared at a few herbs, thinking of picking some and restocking the supplies. She sniffed the air for a certian air and her mentor's scent draged into her nose. She puled her ears foreward and went over slowly through the stalks. She looked down at at her mentor from where she stood and she bowed her head, knowing what was coming.

Yami's ears flicked, but she didn't look up. Daiyu approached ever so quietly, and a wry smile flitted across her still-pretty features. With a tire, weary eye, she locked gazes with Daiyu. "You understand me, no?" She queried softly, her voice cracking ever so slightly. This was not how she wanted having an apprentice to go. It wasn't right. It never was. Her apprentice was supposed to look up to her, not recoil away and break the rules. With a shuddering breath, she awaited the young vixen's answer.

She pulled her ears back.
"Forgive me..."She whispered."....I will nt be with him..I may have feelings for him, but the ones to my duty are stronger..."

Yami let out a harsh laugh, one that wracked her fragile body. "I see the way you look at him, Daiyu love. Matters of the heart are not familiar to me, but I understand your feelings. You cannot be away from him." She stood slowly, taking in a shuddering breath. "I also understand if you would rather not be a healer and be with him."

She stared blankly at her shivering mentor. She slowly shook her head.
"I would never give up my position..I have been chosen this destiny and I shall keep to it...."She murmerd.

"Do not be a fool, Daiyu. If you can not commit yourself, you have no destiny in the healer's world," Yami snarled, her mood changing. This is what happens when you get old, she thought bitterly.
