Snap! A twig crunched under the footsteps of a small she-cat. The cat leader tensed as she heard a squeak of a mouse. The brown-ish feline licked her jaws hungrily. She crept forwards and pounced. The cat must have missed slightly for she landed just in front of it. She got up, frustrated, and licked herself. Fawnstar was the name and hunting, right now, was her game. But it seemd as though she wasn't having much luck. The ThunderClan leader opened her jaw, showing the sharp, long, white teeth in her mouth. It was so foggy and humid, that she could barly taste anything. Sighing Fawnstar turned around to take a walk. The wind was cold and it rustled her fur. It was dawn and the blackbirds were singing furiously. Fawnstar spat at them and continued her walk.

Her ears where pricked for the sounds of prey. Her mouth was open taking in the scents of the forest around her. The trees, the leaves and the sweet scent of prey wafted around her with the swirling winds. She closed her eyes trying to identify the scents one by one. Mouse! She dropped into a hunters crouch and prowled forward. Her silver tabby fur prickling with anticipation. The mouse came in sight. It sat in a wad of moss nibbling on a seed. Her heart began to pound her senses growing ever so aware then... Pounce! She landed on the mouse delivering a swift bite to the back of the neck. It fell limply in her jaws. She rose up and let out a swift purr of satisfaction. Hunting was her favorite thing to do and she had grown quite good at it. She dipped a silver paw into the ground scooping up some dirt and letting the mouse fall into the hole. She swept the dirt back into the hole with her fluffy tail and trotted on to find some more prey.

Fawnstar heard a pounce. She looked around the forest. The leader crept into the hollow log and crawled back out to get to the other side. Not that she had to, just because she wanted to. Her little grey-brown feet trotted across the soft forest floor. She looked around before she spotted a she cat. It looked as though it had caught a mouse. Fawnstar thought of a fun idea. She stalked forwards and went up behind the cat. Then she said "Boo." hoping to scare the cat.

That came as a great surprise to the she-cat. She nearly jumped out of her fur and let out a 'Mroww' of shock. She spun around quickly and came face to face with Fawnstar. "F...Fawnstar!" She meowed. "You startled me..." She dipped her head towards her leader. The feeling of pure embarrassment crept over her. You should of paid closer attention! Your not suppose to let anyone or anything creep up on you! She thought, mentally scolding herself.

Fawnstar let out a "Mrowr" of amusement. "THat was funny! Haha! You are so much fun, Symphonicheart!" tears of joy sprang up in her eyes. "Did you have any luck with hunting? I havn't. Mouse-brained fog." she murmered to herslef.

SymphonicHeart nodded, attempting to regain her ruined composure. "I have managed to catch a mouse." She meowed. "I can't find anything else yet." Her eyes scanned what she could see and her nosed picked up what scents it could. "Not much prey seems out today."

Fawnstar snorted "No kidding. I don't want to be out here myself!" the she cat looked around. "Hmm. We might have luck with the birds. They'll probably be in their little nests." Fawnstar looked at her deputy. "What do you think?"

SymphonicHeart nodded. "I don't think they would want to be out in this weather. I know I wouldn't" She mewed Partly to Fawnstar and partly to herself. She could not keep the exciment from pulsing through her. Hunting flying prey was always much more challenging, unlike ground bound mice.

Fawnstar paused to open her mouth. She looked up at a big tree "Up there" without questions, the leader lept up the tree and climbed. She looked at every branch on the way and finally, on the 5 branch, a mother blackbird and eggs lay in a nest. "Hah. Breakfast time." she whispered to herslef. Then, she pounced. With a swift strike of the paw, the blackbird was killed. Fawnstar went to it and tossed it down to her clanmate "Catch!" she yelled down. Without looking to see Symphonyheart caught it, she scrambled down the tree and landed safely

Symphonicheart scrabbled as the blackbird fell. She managed to catch it but, a flurry of feathers scattered everywhere. She set the blackbird onto the ground and let out a little sneeze. "Nice catch!" She mewed. "You climb trees like a pro!"

SymphonicHeart could not keep her tail from lashing back and forth like an excited apprentices. On rare occasions would she climb a tree. "I would love to!" She squeaked. She gave her shoulder a few embarrassed licks. She was acting like a kit!

Fawnstar practicaly read her deputy's mind "You act like a kit!" she retorted. "Oh well. As long as you are good at hunting, fighting and making friends. Thats what qualities a good leader needs. Unlike me." she said the last part to herself mostly. "Anyway go on"

Symphonicheart could not help but become puzzled by her leader's last statement. She decided it was best not to pry and annoy her. She walked towards the tree and launched herself onto it's side. Locking her claws firmly in place she gained balance as well as confidence and began to ascend up the tree checking each branch for prey. Then, upon a thick branch was a Bluebird perched firmly, whistling a gental tune. SymphonicHeart hoisted herself onto the branch and was careful not to startle the bird. She inched closer and pounced forwards. The bird landed beneath her paws and sh struggled to maintain balance. She bite the bird and killed it swiftly. She picked it up in her jaws and took in it's sweet scent. Turning towards where her leader was she tossed the bird down and began to make her descent.

Fawnstar watched as Symphonicheart killed the bird. Very good skills. As the bird came down, she posisitioned herself to catch the blue thing falling down. Then, she lept up and caught it by its tail, bairly catching it. She put it down gently. "Good catch!" she yelled up to her deputy, who was crawling down the tree
